I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Environmental Science Program at Northern Kentucky University. I am an eco-epidemiologist focused on the intersection between ecology and social factors affecting vector-borne disease prevalence in human-dominated landscapes specifically looking at mosquitoes and ticks. I also teach a wide range of courses spanning from introductory biology and environmental science courses to advances courses on infectious disease transmission and urban ecology. I completed my PhD in the Department of Entomology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2019. Before my PhD, I was a high school science teacher in Dallas, TX through Teach for America.
