The Account Executive and Staff Entomologist at Rad Source Technologies Inc. serves a dual role that combines business development leadership with scientific and technical expertise. The primary focus of this position is to identify potential customers, develop new markets, and generate revenue by selling capital X-ray irradiation systems and sterile insect products. In this role, the individual also serves as the company’s internal authority on irradiation-based entomological solutions that support large-scale insect pest control programs, including the sterile insect technique and phytosanitary applications.


This position is responsible for developing and executing customer engagement and market entry strategies that align with organizational objectives and drive sustainable sales growth and customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ethical professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational teams.


Beyond account management and sales responsibilities, the Staff Entomologist component of the role provides applied technical guidance on insect identification, irradiation applications, and program design. The position supports customer education, solution validation, and compliance with applicable entomological, regulatory, and phytosanitary standards for sterile insect technique and phytosanitary treatment applications. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who can combine technical credibility with consultative sales execution to open new markets and close sales opportunities.


Responsibilities:


· Identify, prospect, and develop new customers and emerging markets for capital X-ray irradiation equipment and sterile insect products

· Develop, manage, and close complex sales opportunities while owning and exceeding annual sales targets

· Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships across commercial, government, and institutional accounts

· Establish and execute account strategies, including forecasting and development of monthly and annual sales objectives

· Understand the competitive landscape, market dynamics, and regulatory drivers influencing customer decision making

· Implement effective sales strategies and analyze performance trends and results

· Identify and resolve customer challenges using a consultative and solution-oriented approach

· Manage leads and opportunities within the customer relationship management system and maintain pipeline integrity through reporting and analytics

· Establish and grow referral networks and strategic partnerships to maximize business development opportunities

· Provide applied entomological expertise in pest identification, irradiation applications, and sterile insect program support

· Support customer education and compliance with relevant entomological, regulatory, and phytosanitary standards and best practices

· Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications:


· Two to five years of sales experience, including cold calling, door-to-door sales, or business-to-business sales

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

· Bachelor's degree in Entomology or Insect Biology, or a bachelor’s degree in a related life science field with equivalent experience, including one or more of the following:

o Biology, Biological Sciences, Zoology, Ecology, or Environmental Science

· Experience supporting applied, commercial, regulatory, or pest management programs is highly valued

· Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) certification preferred

· Proven ability to sell complex, technical solutions with confidence and credibility

· Strong capital equipment sales and deal closing capability

· Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and account management skills

· Ability to work independently while effectively managing priorities, time, and territory responsibilities

· Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

· Well organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and competing demands

· Clear, analytical thinker who remains calm under pressure and exercises sound professional judgment

· Strong customer focus with the ability to understand needs and propose effective, value-driven solutions

· Ability to communicate entomological concepts clearly to customers, partners, and internal cross-functional teams

· Understanding of laboratory testing requirements and irradiation applications is preferred
