Dr Andrew Hammond is the Co-Founder and CSO at Biocentis, a biotechnology company building sustainable solutions for genetic control of insect pest and vector species. His research team includes world leaders in field of genetic control, a field Andrew has made meaningful contributions to as the first to develop gene drive technology for the African malaria mosquito and the inventor of 5 patents related to scalable, cost-effective genetic pest control. Andrew maintains adjunct appointments as Associate Professor at Imperial College London and Johns Hopkins University, and contributes to international policy and regulatory matters related to the ethics, regulation, and the future of genome engineering.
