AMCA Seeks Next Editor-in-Chief for JAMCA
After 20 years of dedicated service, the longest tenure of any Editor in JAMCA's history, Dr. Lal Mian will be stepping down as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Mosquito Control Association. Under his leadership, JAMCA has grown steadily in both submissions and readership, recently reaching the highest Journal Impact Factor (1.4) in its history. AMCA is deeply grateful for his two decades of service to the journal and to the broader mosquito control and vector ecology community.
AMCA is now accepting proposals for the next JAMCA Editor-in-Chief. This is an independent contractor engagement with a four-year initial term, responsible for overall editorial direction of the journal in coordination with the JAMCA Editorial Board and Publications Committee.
The search committee is co-chaired by Michelle Brown (JAMCA Editorial Board Chair) and Whitney Qualls (Publications Committee Chair).
Full details on the scope of work, qualifications, and compensation are available in the Call for Proposals.
Proposals are due by 5:00 PM Pacific on Thursday, October 29, 2026. This is a firm deadline. Questions may be directed to mmacnee@mosquito.org by Thursday, October 22, 2026.
